Lake Heritage is a residential community built around a 154-acre artificial lake about two miles south-east of Gettysburg, with roughly 2,150 residents. Of its 2.08 square miles, about 0.23 is water. The lake's outlet drains into White Run and on into Rock Creek. Living beside that much standing water means summer humidity and groundwater are a permanent part of the picture rather than an occasional problem.
